This is also another Warhol attempt. I was very inspired by the set of prints that he made of Mick Jagger using this similar form of collage work. Covering a photo with coloured paper and extending the drawing to look as if the coloured paper was underneath the image itself.
I don't know whether it was ever of wish of David's that Andy Warhol would do a set of prints on him. Afterall, Andy did such a huge range paintings/prints on musicians from Mick Jagger, Lou Reed, The Velvet Underground, Elvis, etc etc. I don't think he ever did anything on David Bowie. So here I am stepping in and doing something Warholian in tribute to the great David Bowie.
At the moment there are only 4 scans. I'm still working on more... hopefully I'll get them up soon. Its an unfinished series and I don't think it'll ever be complete. I will keep adding more and more to this Bowie collage collection.
I bet Warhol refused to do Bowie because of the song Bowie wrote about him. It's such a shame though, cause Bowie's the first thing that pops up in my head when you mention beauty..
Well, wham bam thank you ma'am! You're awesome for doing this!
